Werner Riemer Tips4Golf Instructor

              Werner Riemer joined Hanging Rock in August 2004. In 1996, while working at a driving range in Fairfax and pursuing a degree at George Mason University, he realized a career in golf met his goals of teaching, working in the sports industry, helping people, and being outside.

             He made his first move with an internship at Devil’s Knob at Wintergreen Resort. Werner next became an Assistant at Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, where he organized and operated a variety of tournaments, provided lessons and studied under a John Jacobs, certified instructor. He also ran junior clinics and golf schools, and had the opportunity to assist in teaching at the Golf School for Women with Sandra Haynie and Jackie Bertsch.

           In 2000, Werner became the First Assistant at Quarry Hills Country Club in Graham, N.C., where he worked with Will Mann, past president of the PGA of America, and participated in Link Up 2 Golf, a pilot teaching program. Two years later, he returned to Virginia to be the First Assistant at Somerset Golf Club, and so that his son and daughter could be closer to grandparents. Werner is excited to be at The Rock!
